Spike was discovered abandoned, in his carrier, on our doorstep early one frosty, November morning. He was terrified and who can blame him – at just eight months old, how could his owner have been so callous and, some would say, irresponsible?
Despite his ordeal, Spike, soon regained his mojo and has proven to be a gentle giant who loves as cuddle – we suspect he has quite a lot of Maine Coon / Turkish decent in his blood – he’s certainly talkative. Larger than most cats in the rescue already, at eight months old he’s still growing. A kitten still, he loves to play.
Whoever adopts Spike, beside getting a fantastic companion, will need to have to time to frequently groom him – he tolerates, nay, even enjoys being brushed but he cannot be considered low-maintenance. He also needs the sleep from his eyes cleaning most days to keep him looking his best.
In our care, we’ve boosted his vaccinations and had him castrated. Spike‘s now super keen to find a loving home having forgiven his original owners.
READY for homing – if you’d like to adopt, please read the information here: ‘Our Homing Process’ and then complete a matchmaker/registration form
As with all our cats, Spike has been vaccinated, wormed, flead, microchipped, and neutered before homing. To help offset these costs we respectfully ask for a minimum donation of £100 towards the cost of veterinary treatment.
